The Princes Celebrated Christmas

Since our family has grown, we have now started celebrating together on a day other than Christmas. It suits our situation much better, and it doesn't matter WHEN you celebrate the birth of Christ, it only matters how and with whom it is remembered.  This year was a very special time, because we added another grandson to our list of grandchildren.  It was precious to enjoy Christmas seeing it through the eyes of a child again.  We traditionally do family photos, then we eat, and last we open gifts... This year was a little different, because we decided to go to church together since our day to gather was on Sunday.  Sixteen of us worshiping together was truly the best part of my Christmas. Another activity we enjoyed this year was playing 42, with 2 tables going it was fun.  We need to start a little earlier next time, though, because as the evening wound down, some of us lost a little zip.

We enjoyed having all of our family together and we look forward to future times when we wii be together to celebrate holidays or special occasions. We feel so blessed.

A New Grandson

This slideshow is long because I had to wait from April until the end of November to post anything about our new grandson. Then I decided to wait and post a few Christmas pictures.  He is amazing, and I hope you enjoy seeing some of the many photos of him.

A GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

50 Years of Blessings
On June 20, 1964 ~ We became Husband and Wife...
I thought at the time, nothing could top that experience.
We were on top of the world, or so it seemed!

Cutting the cake...

On the same date, at the same time, fifty years later
we returned to the place where our marriage began.

It is no longer the Velasco Methodist Church,
but it still looks the same,
and it still brings back those sweet memories.

Apparently the "I Do's" were permanent declarations of our love.

A marker has been erected to show
the church's historical significance.

After our wedding, our 'second kiss' took place
outside, on the church sidewalk,
when he swept me off my feet.
Fifty years and many kisses later,
we were photographed again,
to commemorate the original picture.

On July 4, 2014, our children honored us
with a celebration for our 50th Anniversary at our home.
After our meal there was another cake
spotlighting many events from our life together,
baked and decorated by our dear friend, Rhonda Mills.

All of us were here...
Scott's Family
AJ, Laura, Kim, Scott, Kaylee, and Doug

Larry's Family
Caitlin, Larry, Jackie, and Hunter

Duane and Denise
(and one very special little boy~the topic of a future blog)

Our family has made us proud, and continues to do so!

How could I have thought, as a bride,
that we had reached the top of the world?
So many wonderful experiences have made our life
more than I could have imagined.
Just this past spring another exciting event happened in our life
which has already and will continue to enrich our family,
and the lives of his mommy and daddy.

We have been so blessed!

Christmas Came to Our House

It's getting harder to all get together now that the grands are getting older, and have others in their lives who want to have time with them during the holidays.  We felt blessed to have
the whole family together on the Sunday after Christmas to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
We were delighted to have Laura's fiance - A.J. Huffman with us again this year,
and to have Kaylee bring a special young man, Clint Cage, with her.

While the dressing and other food finished cooking, we all went outside and did the dreaded family photo shoot.  These are this year's results:
